Notes

I finished Wrapped in Tradition - Disappointed, it's okay, everyone else liked it but not a pattern I would choose to do again.

Victorian Lace Today - Amazing book! I want to knit it cover to cover. The best knitting book, not for beginners.

Sudoku - Staring at me waiting for me to pick it up. Probably next week now that holidays and Secret Pal are over.

Mercerized Crochet Cotton No 10 is my crack and I love it.

  1. Can you tell me what you didn't like about Wrapped in Tradition? I am asking because I was just thinking of starting it for my sister who just got engaged...

  2. Hi Ellen, I didn't like the shaping. Now I did use a cotton yarn, but I've knitted lace with that before and it's been fine. I do still have to block it though, perhaps I'll do that today.

It looks okay on my mother who is pretty tiny. But it's definitely not a one size fits all pattern. If your sister likes ponchos and is very petite and skinny, then she'll probably love this pattern.

Like I said everyone who saw it loved it. But they're either beginner knitters or don't know how.

I would recommend Victorian Lace Today. They have some amazing lace scarves, wraps, and shawls and they're not as difficult as they appear.

Once I block it I'll post photos and you can decide for yourself. Mostly I just didn't enjoy knitting it, and I'm not crazy about ponchos anyway.
